Opening and book launch July 5 19h-22h

With readings by Caitlin Berrigan,  Elvia Wilk, Sria Chatterjee and Inger Wold Lund

We're delighted to announce the Berlin launch of Caitlin Berrgian's Imaginary Explosions. Please join us for an exhibition by the artist, as well as readings by Berrigan, Inger Wold Lund, Elvia Wilk and others tbc. This will be BDP's summer party, so make sure to come out to celebrate with us!

This exhibition is comprised of material from Berrigan’s new book Imiginary Explosions. Print reproductions of the rednerings found in the book are accompanied by facsimiles of the artist’s poetry. These renderings are based on the 3D topographical radar data of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano from the National Land Survey of Iceland.

The resulting collation reflects the sequential and narrative poetry, both written and visual, which the reader traverses as they move through the space of the book itself. The exhibition then represents a book of poetry and topological delineation, both exploring geological ruptures, the immense scale and deep time of sexual violence, and the ways traumas reverberate through bodies across multiple generations of relationships and families.

Imaginary Explosions is an artist book, a book of poetry and topological delineation. It explores geological ruptures, the immense scale and deep time of sexual violence, and the ways traumas reverberate through bodies across multiple generations of relationships and families.
